Dear social media, thanks for being a new way to cultivate our critical thinking !

Differents means of mass dissemination of information, advertising and culture, mass medias are able to transmit a message really quickly to as many people as possible.

Between information and over-information there’s actually one step ! And this one has been crossed for a long time. Despite the multiplicity of sources and news that appear every single day, humans must cultivate their critical spirits : because fake news favored, don’t be fooled !

Form an opinion, an ability to discern with regard to one’s environment is important to not yield to pressure from a group or an information.

Everyone’s right to express themselves or to believe is legitimized because of mass medias.

Thus, the more this legitimacy expands, the more critical spirit must be developed to not get lost in all the information that comes every day.

However, mass medias are an indispensable part of modern society. They have imposed themselves by offering the possibility to express to everyone, but also by submitting ideas without a restriction, in all forms, from every angle, from every point of view.

Drowned under informations, the need to know how to sort what we can see, read or hear takes all its meaning and requires an ability to say no. No to supercomputing. No to lies. No to distorted and improved truth. But also know how to say yes. Yes to plurality of opinions, to difference. Yes to our own opinion. The one that our critical mind will have forged for us.
